The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is a limited-edition 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky created to commemorate 55 years since the premiere of the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.
Distilled in 2007 and matured for 18 years, this distinctive 2026 release was developed by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team to capture the film’s central theme: not everything is quite as it seems.
Whisky Maker Russell Greig selected an innovative combination of casks to create a whisky with remarkable depth and complexity. The composition includes bespoke hybrid sherry-seasoned oak casks, specially constructed using both European and American oak staves within a single cask. This unusual approach reflects the precision, creativity and technical ingenuity associated with both The Macallan and James Bond.
The presentation continues the cinematic theme, with packaging that provides a behind-the-scenes perspective on the creative development and visual production of Diamonds Are Forever. The result is a highly collectible release that brings together fine whisky craftsmanship, film heritage and contemporary design.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Elegant aromas of polished oak, vanilla bean and rich dried fruits.
Palate:
Smooth and inviting, with creamy vanilla and caramel leading into cocoa-dusted champagne truffles, roasted coffee, figs, berries and dried apricots. Gentle spices develop gradually, adding balance and complexity.
Finish:
Long, refined and warming, with lingering notes of oak, fruit and subtle spice.
