Kanosuke Single Malt Japanese Whisky is the flagship single malt from Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
Bottled at 48% ABV and non-chill filtered, it reflects the distillery’s connection to traditional shochu-making techniques. The whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak casks and re-charred shochu casks, including casks previously used for Mellowed Kozuru.
This combination creates a layered and balanced profile, bringing together ripe fruit, gentle sweetness, spice and subtle smoky notes.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Ripened citrus, honey, banana, lemon tea and caramel.
Palate:
Ginger, candied quince, Japanese cinnamon (nikki) and lightly smoked nuts.
Finish:
Smooth, elegant and gently lingering, with a touch of sweetness.
