GlenAllachie 10YR Spanish Virgin Oak Whisky 700ml 48%

The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Spanish Virgin Oak Limited Edition is a distinctive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from GlenAllachie’s acclaimed Virgin Oak Series.

Initially matured before undergoing additional maturation in specially selected Spanish virgin oak hogsheads, this limited-edition whisky showcases the rich influence of Quercus Robur oak sourced from Galicia and Asturias in northern Spain.

The oak was harvested from forests in the Cantabrian Mountains, where the cool and humid climate contributes to the character of the wood. Before being crafted into hogsheads, the oak was air-dried for approximately 18 months before receiving a medium toast and char.

Bottled at 48% ABV, the GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Spanish Virgin Oak delivers a rich combination of orchard fruit, baking spice, chocolate, coffee and honey, complemented by the deeper spice and sweetness imparted by the Spanish oak.

Released in 2023 as a limited edition, this expression is an excellent choice for GlenAllachie enthusiasts, Speyside whisky drinkers and collectors interested in unusual oak maturation.

Nose:
Orchard fruits, baking spices and sticky toffee pudding, accompanied by brown sugar, glazed cherries and fresh citrus.

Palate:
Rich chocolate and coffee flavours combine with heather honey, followed by warming pepper, ginger and molasses.

Finish:
Medium to long, with lingering notes of banana and sultanas.
