A rare Australian-exclusive single cask release from Chichibu Distillery, bottled in 2023 specially for Casa de Vinos.
This exceptional Japanese single malt was matured entirely in 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel #7404 before being bottled at a powerful 65% ABV. With only 201 bottles produced, it represents the small-scale, cask-focused style that has made Chichibu one of the most highly sought-after names in modern Japanese whisky.
Founded by Ichiro Akuto, Chichibu Distillery began production in 2008 in Saitama Prefecture. Despite its relatively young age, the distillery has developed an international following for its limited production, careful cask selection and highly collectible single-cask releases.
Cask #7404 was selected specifically for Casa de Vinos, the exclusive Australian importer and distributor of Chichibu whisky. Bottled at cask strength, this release offers collectors and Japanese whisky enthusiasts the opportunity to experience Chichibu in one of its most concentrated and limited forms.
With its combination of single-cask provenance, first-fill bourbon maturation, Australian-exclusive allocation and a production of just 201 bottles, this is an increasingly difficult Chichibu release to find.
Only 201 bottles were drawn from this individual first-fill bourbon barrel. Unlike Chichibu's broader annual releases, Cask #7404 was selected specifically for the Australian market through Casa de Vinos, giving the bottle a particularly strong provenance for collectors of Australian-exclusive Japanese whisky releases.
