Octomore 16.1 is a cask-strength, super-peated Islay single malt (700ml, 59.3% ABV) made from 100% Scottish mainland barley, peated to 137.3 PPM. Aged 5 years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks, it balances huge smoke with vanilla-caramel sweetness and coastal salinity. Natural colour and non-chill filtered.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla, smouldering peat, sea spray, honeycomb, toasted coconut, charred oak
Palate: Malt sweetness, creamy caramel, roasted coffee, charred oak, smoky spice
Finish: Long—intense peat, salted toffee, citrus hints, coastal brine
Best for: peat-heads, high-ABV Islay fans, collectors.
Serve: neat first, then add 1–2 drops of water to open it up.
