The Ardnamurchan Madeira Cask Release 2025 is a bold yet beautifully balanced single malt, crafted from a unique combination of 43% peated spirit and 57% unpeated spirit. It begins its maturation in bourbon barrels, before being re-racked into Madeira wine casks, adding layers of rich sweetness, warm spice, and dark chocolate depth.

Bottled without added colour and without chill filtration, this release delivers a full-flavoured, natural profile with a gentle piney peat running underneath the fruit and cocoa-driven richness.

Tasting Notes

Nose
Cocoa, candied almonds, custard and sweet spices, followed by stewed stone fruits and fruit buns. Subtle woody spice builds in the background.

Palate
Cedar and cinnamon lead into salted peanuts, chocolate Brazil nuts, raisins and toffee apples. Piney peat adds a warming, peppery edge.

Finish
Earthy smoke and woody spice linger, with dried berries and dark chocolate chips rounding things off.
