Bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the Distillery’s darkest days, Ardbeg 25 Year Old shows the distillery at its most intricate, balanced and beguiling. More elegant and refined than the younger expressions, it still carries the unmistakable Ardbeg smokiness and coastal character.

Smoked cream and earthy bonfire notes rise from the glass, wrapped in peppermint, pine resin and soft candle wax. On the palate, a vibrant surge of hot pepper twists around sherbet-like lemon sweetness, before easing into creamy toffee, gentle tar and hints of carbolic soap. The finish is long, mellow and comforting, with layers of cream, fudge, delicate aniseed and a subtle antiseptic touch – a remarkably soothing and sophisticated side of Ardbeg.

Colour
Bright amber.

Aroma
A powerful burst of smoked cream, peppermint and toffee, with classic Ardbeg fennel and pine resin. Distant earthy bonfires mingle with herbal tones, banana and tropical fruits, finished with a soft, fragrant candle-wax note.

Taste
Extremely vibrant and peppery at first, leading into sherbet-like lemon sweetness and flavours of candied apples, pears and orange. Hints of carbolic soap and gentle tar develop, followed by more creamy toffee, aniseed and a touch of chilli pepper.

Finish
Long, mellow and lingering. Waves of cream, fudge and soft caramel interplay with delicate antiseptic notes, leaving an elegant and deeply soothing impression of Ardbeg.
