After initial ageing in refill and hogshead casks, the whisky is transferred into Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks sourced from Napa Valley, California, for approximately 15 months of finishing.
The Napa Valley wine casks add layers of ripe red fruit, berry sweetness and gentle tannin to Aberfeldy’s naturally honeyed Highland character, creating a whisky that balances fruit, sweetness, spice and mature oak.
