Kavalan Solist Vinho is a bold and richly layered single malt whisky, fully matured in hand-selected American oak wine barrels that once held both red and white wines. These casks are meticulously re-toasted and re-charred to draw out deep layers of fruity vanilla, tropical sweetness, and subtle spice — delivering a truly luxurious drinking experience.

Crafted using slow-grown American oak seasoned for over two years in the open air, the wood imparts soft, rounded flavors while minimizing harsh tannins. Expect delicate herbal notes of dill and lemongrass alongside creamy vanilla and baking spice.

Before whisky maturation, each cask is used to age premium wines, adding a unique dimension of complexity. Post-wine maturation, the casks are shaved, toasted, and lightly charred to transform wine residues into an orchestra of flavors — from bright lime and juicy berries to soft peach, with a rich undercurrent of caramel and vanilla ice cream.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Warm apple pie with cinnamon and nutmeg, layered with caramelised orchard fruits, dark chocolate, and tropical citrus bursts.

• Palate: Creamy vanilla fudge, espresso, polished oak, and a medley of blackberries, blueberries, and forest bramble.

• Finish: Lingering notes of plums, figs, red apples, and gentle spice, with hints of armagnac and Cabernet Sauvignon.
