The Springbank Local Barley 10 Year Old 2025 Release is the latest edition in one of Campbeltown's most sought-after annual whisky series.
Created as a genuine "grain to glass" expression, Springbank Local Barley is produced using barley grown in the Campbeltown area, before being traditionally malted, distilled, matured and bottled by Springbank.
For the 2025 release, Springbank selected Bere barley grown at Clochkiel Farm, just a short distance from the distillery in Campbeltown.
Distilled in 2015 and matured for 10 years in a combination of 60% ex-bourbon casks and 40% ex-sherry casks, the whisky was bottled at a robust 55.2% ABV.
Production was limited to approximately 8,000 bottles worldwide, making this another highly collectible release from the celebrated Local Barley series.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Fig rolls, date syrup and ripe plums, complemented by aromatic star anise.
Palate:
More savoury in character, developing notes of burdock, shiitake mushroom, tamari soy sauce and liquorice.
Finish:
Campfire ash emerges alongside deep treacle and molasses, leaving a rich and distinctly Springbank-style finish.
